Our Goldens

Here at Trifecta we go to great lengths to breed healthy sound pups. Having been involved with this wonderful breed since 1980 we are both experienced and knowledgeable. In our breeding program we strive for longevity, soundness and temperament.

Our first golden was obtained from Jackie Mertens, when Lisa was in college. This great dog (Baninin x Bang) lived to be a healthy 16 plus, and is behind all of our dogs. Topbrass Barney of Trifecta, CD, WC brought a strong hip influence, style, longevity and temperament to our line. We could not have had a better foundation male-he was so vigorous and he passed on that trait.

Another outstanding dog that has been extremely influential in our breeding program is GMHR Topbrass Rudy Of Trifecta CDX,MH,WCX,*** (OS). Rudy brought his desire to please, trainability, intelligence, and fantastic marking ability to our line.

We have successfully blended the older competitive field trial lines(Barney) with the Rudy influence. The results of this breeding program can be seen in our offspring who are running competitively today. Trifecta’s One Heck Of A Splash MH (OD)(Barney daughter) has been bred several times to Rudy. These breedings have consistently produced sound healthy pups with good attitude, nice style, and super temperaments. Trifecta’s Repeat Performance MH,***, Trifecta’s Duncan Part Cotton MH, Trifecta’s Duckboat Buddy MH, SR Trifecta’s Jersey Girl CDX,and our own,Trifecta’s Audie Cum Laude MH,***, are just a few of the dogs from the Rudy/Splash combo.

Trifecta’s Audie Cum Laude MH,*** Splash/Rudy. Born,3/95. Trifecta Audie Cum Laude MH*** , aged 10, feb 2005 Audie is full of personality and style. Whatever she does, she does with gusto. At ten years of age she is very fit and sound. With limited breedings she has produced outstanding pups. Audie bred to AFC Emberain Rugby produced Trifecta’s Gambler, who in 2004 was the top derby golden in the country with 21 derby points, as well as becoming qualified all age under the age of 2. His littermate, Trifecta’s Shagedelic with 6 derby points, and also qualified all age under the age of 2. Audie bred to Splashdown Culynwood Shogun CD,MH,WCX,** produced many hunt test dogs, many hunting dogs, as well as our Trifecta’s Bet On Me ***.

Trifecta’s Bet On Me*** (Emme) -- Audie/Splashdown Culynwood Shogun. Born 4/98. Emme is fast,stylish,and always eager to do her best. She is a great marker and is a pleasure to run and to watch. She has been completely amateur trained and handled and with limited trialing has done well. She has several Jams and Reserve Jams in the open as well as a 2nd in the amateur at an all breed trial. Emme was bred to FC/AFC Glenhaven HTRS MN Baronet which produced Ruby Be My Valentine CDX,JH and our own Trifecta This Spudz For You **

Trifecta’s For Keepsake (Katie) - Trifecta’s She’s A Keeper ***/ AFC Emberain Rugby. Born 4/02. Trifecta's Keepsake Katie (right), and under our boys, Trifecta's Cash On The Line (left) Katie is very fast,and very stylish. With much enthusiasm she is fun to train and more fun to watch. Once she masters her blinds, hopefully we will run her in the qualifying in the spring/fall of 2005. She is very special to us and shows much promise.

Trifecta Strikes Gold *** (Striker) -- Trifecta’s Highest Dreams/Rudy. Born 9/96. Trifecta Strikes Gold Striker attained his SH at 11months of age. At this young age he also completed and jammed his first Derby. He had a very successful derby career earning 17 derby points, with 3 firsts with limited trialing. He was the high point derby golden for 1998. In 1999 at the national specialty he won the qualifying with a large entry as well as a 2nd in the Open. In 2000 at the national specialty he got a 2nd in the Amat., and a 4th in the Open. He also got a 4th in the Open at an all breed trial in 2000 as well as several jams. Striker has been twice awarded the prestigious Ralph Boalt-Stilrovin Memorial Trophy. This trophy is awarded to the highest placing golden at the national specialty that is bred, owned and handled by the handler.

Trifecta’s Cash On The Line** - Golden Rules Coast to Coast CDX,JH/Trifecta Strikes Gold ***. Born 12/99. Trifecta’s Cash On The Line Cash is a superb duck/goose dog. He can sit quietly in the boat/blind for hours but is eager to retrieve in all sorts of bad weather and conditions. He has several jams in the Qualifying and will run in the Amat/Open in 2005.

Trifecta This Spudz For You ** FC/AFC Glenhaven HTRS MN Baronet/Trifecta’s Bet On Me ***. Born 1/01. This Spudz For You Spud got 3 derby points at an all breed trial. He also got several Jams and Reserve Jams in the qualifying,as well as a 3rd. Spud is very focused and has been since a pup. He is very sweet and affectionate and an excellent marker. He will run in the Amat/Open in the Fall 2005. All our goldens at Trifecta are our companions first. They are house pets as well as hunting companions. All of them hunt upland birds as well as ducks/geese. We breed them to be part of the family as well as to be able to be hunted over. We enjoy the breed, we enjoy the competition, and we enjoy the hunts we have with them.
